MembershipWelcome New RAMA MembersRAMA is pleased to announce our newest members.
President’s MessageI’d like to welcome all of you to the inaugural RAMA newsletter. This newsletter is the culmination of many hours of work by dedicated RAMA volunteers, and I think you will really like the results. The Board has felt for a while that we need to be more proactive in communicating with our membership, and it is my feeling that our newsletter will help accomplish this goal. I want you to know that as RAMA members, this is your newsletter. We hope that it provides added value to your membership. Please don’t hesitate to give us feedback or contact any Board member with ideas to help make RAMA a better Chapter. Our chapter is one of the most vibrant in North America, and we are very proud of the positive impact we’ve had on marketing. I hope through this newsletter you can start to experience the breadth and depth of what RAMA does in our quest to be a trusted marketing resource in Rochester and surrounding communities. We need your input The DM SIG is charged with providing relevant information, events and insights to help RAMA members increase their direct marketing knowledge, understanding and effectiveness. Whether your direct marketing interests focus on the big picture only, involve day-to-day tactical details, or are anywhere in between, we want to hear from you. The DM SIG is conducting a brief online survey to get your input on topics and activities that interest you. When you receive the survey, please complete it. Your responses will help us plan upcoming events that will benefit you. ScholarshipsRAMA Awards a Scholarship to the Simon School ChapterRAMA awarded a $400 scholarship to the Simon School Chapter. The scholarship was used toward the Simon Marketing Association’s Annual Marketing Case Competition at the University of Rochester, which hosted MBA students from many of the nation's leading business schools. This high profile event attracted top marketing talent from across the nation.

Collegiate ChaptersAlfred University RAMA Chapter Recognized As Revitalized Chapter of the YearThe Alfred University AMA Chapter was awarded the "Revitalized Chapter of the Year 2007/2008" award at the 30th Annual International Collegiate Conference in New Orleans. Thank you for all of your support and encouragement in helping Alfred University RAMA to become a leading chapter. (Left to Right) Dr. William Ward, Jessica Marble, Ashley Fantigrossi, Ben Duffy, Logan Heaney, Todd Ford, Jamie Fitch, Mike Heaney, Amber Wenthold, Irving Escobar, Jessica Henderson) Review of the AMA’s 30th Annual International Collegiate ConferenceStudents from the Alfred University Collegiate Chapter attended the American Marketing Association’s 30th Annual International Collegiate Conference in New Orleans on April 3-5. At the conference, the Alfred University students competed for the Chapter Plans and Annual Reports category and in the sales competition. There was record attendance at the AMA Collegiate conference with 1,350 students from around the country in attendance. During the conference, 120 of the leading collegiate chapters competed, networked, and shared tips on how to run a great chapter. The format is similar to the AMA Annual Leadership Summit in Chicago. There are 200 plus collegiate chapters and 12,000 collegiate members nationally. Dr. William J. Ward Receives A Prestigious AwardDr. William J. Ward, Director of Collegiate Chapters for RAMA and Alfred University AMA Faculty Advisor, has been issued the “Hugh G. Wales 2008 Outstanding Faculty Advisor” award by the American Marketing Association. Congratulations to Dr. Ward for great achievements! |
